The following recommendations are based on my past experience going to movies with my wonderful 70-year-old+ mother (ClassicMom) and amazing 80-year-old+ father (ClassicDad). Needless to say, they don’t go often:
1) Let your parents choose where to sit:
2) Expect deafeningly loud comments about anything and everything:
3) Expect mass confusion over the movie’s official starting point:
4) Expect ongoing commentary about what’s happening on screen, as well as ongoing requests for repetitions of that commentary:
5) For 3D movies, enjoy watching your parents attempt to touch, swat, cuddle, or feed the characters in the movie:
6) Do not expect an in-depth discussion of the movie after it is over:
7) Expect a monetary value to be assigned to the movie’s worth upon its completion:
8) Revel over the amazing experience you just had with your parents and hope your children will take you to the movies when you are in your 70s and 80s:
If you can follow these steps, you will have a wonderful time at the movies with your parents.
Lovin’ the pictorial reference, great take on things

I don’t remember ever going to a movie with my parents, and I don’t ever remember THEM going, either, but my Mom, now 77, goes fairly often with my sister. I gotta be honest, I don’t know if I have it in me?!?! :o)
