When you have children, speed is key when ordering and receiving food at a restaurant. Spring Sushi, which is located on the 5th floor of 10 Dundas Street in Toronto (Young Dundas Square), has this process down to an art.
The moment you walk in and are seated is the moment you can start ordering and receiving your food. Each table is equipped with an iPad and a digital menu. Simply start mashing buttons and start receiving your food.
The food at Spring Sushi is fresh and presented nicely. Some of my favourites include tacoyaki, salmon sushi pizza, and the spicey white tuna roll. The menu is quite large and extensive so you should be able to find some favourites for your kids even if they don’t like sushi (i.e. all-you-can-eat yam tempura).
The physical setup of the restaurant is ideal for families as well. The restaurant is spacious, has great views of the city if you choose to be on the patio, and has huge tables that can accommodate all of your wipes, sippy cups, toys, and books.
You can choose to order a la carte or all-you-can-eat (which I recommend). Children cost $3.99 for the all-you-can-eat option.
Kid certified essentials you will find at Spring Sushi:
- Booster chairs
- Room for strollers
- Large tables
- Background noise/music capable of drowning out screaming children
- No milk on the menu
- No change tables
- While iPad menus are ideal for quick ordering, they may also cause meltdowns for some children
My 2 kids give Spring Sushi 3 out of 4 thumbs in the mouth. The addition of milk on the menu and change tables in the washrooms would convince my son to jam his other thumb in his mouth.

My favourite was the thumping beats that put our baby to sleep for the whole time. Nothing like enjoying your meal when it’s hot and fresh! Plus, I was in the bathroom for the tempertantrum.
